We are really excited about seeing you next week at The Food Safety Conference (5 – 6 October). I am sure you are getting ready to attend the event, busy scheduling meetings and connecting with fellow attendees.
Whilst planning your journey please be aware that on the first day of the conference (Wednesday 5th October 2022), some of the UK’s train services may be affected by strike action. But don’t worry – the event will still be easily accessible and we’re looking forward to welcoming you!
Fortunately, at the time of writing, the main train provider (South Western) that is servicing Twickenham station IS NOT AFFECTED. The strike will also NOT INCLUDE London Underground tube services or London buses.
A number of train routes to London from other UK cities such as Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, and Liverpool will still be running but at reduced frequency. Therefore, if you are travelling by train, we recommend you check your route via nationalrail.co.uk ahead of setting off to Twickenham Stadium as services may not be operating their usual schedule.
If you are travelling from Heathrow Airport, as this is only a 20-minute drive, we recommend you either pre-book a taxi or head to the taxi rank at the airport.
If you are travelling from Gatwick Airport, service providers are not affected, and the simplest route is to take the Southern service to Clapham Junction (Victoria line) followed by the South Western service to Twickenham (Teddington via Richmond).
There is also complimentary parking at Twickenham Stadium – click here for details on how to register your vehicle ahead of time.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in a weeks’ time, we’ll be keeping our website updated as more information is shared about the strike but if you have any questions in the meantime please don’t hesitate to contact our team at [email protected].
Accommodation is not included in the delegate ticket price, but attendees can enjoy preferential rates at nearby hotels by booking through our dedicated HotelMap portal.
