I have worked in Moy Park for over 9 years and I have over 30 years’ experience working with poultry due to growing up on a poultry farm in Northern Ireland. I have a BSc (Hons) in Biology and PhD in Sustainable Agriculture. During my PhD I also completed a fellowship at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology and published a briefing note entitled ‘Livestock Super Farms’.

My first role in Moy Park was as a ‘Data Analyst’ and introduced software to the business for enhanced data exploration and statistical analysis. Gradually migrating to R&D and formalising the department in May 2016. I have been involved in many industry leading projects including Campylobacter and antibiotic reduction, bird management, welfare and sustainability.

I currently co-supervises 6 PhD students in a range of topics from welfare to novel biopolymers, which i love and manage a fantastic team internally.

I was also a recipient of the BPC’s mid-career 2023 award which was in recognition of significant contributions to the UK poultry industry in research and development.
