Sterling Crew is President of the Institute of Food Science and Technology and is Chair of the Food Authenticity Network. He is co-founder of Kitchen Conversation. Managing Director of SQS and sits on the governance board at the Safe to Trade. He is also on the audit governance board at Eurofins. He is the Independent Scientific and Regulatory Advisor at the food sharing App OLIO, British Lion Egg and Highfield Training. He is a trustee on the board of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and sits on its Food Advisory Panel. Sterling is also an Editorial Advisor at New Food Magazine.
He has 40 years experience of working in the field of international food safety, authenticity and governance. He started his career in local government before a successful track history in retailing with Marks and Spencer and Tesco. He has also worked in the branded environment for Coca-Cola and Disney and has been a Technical Director at two international manufacturers.
Sterling’s experience as a regulator, retailer, brand owner and food manufacturer has given him a unique perspective of the challenges of food safety and authenticity in the global food supply network.
